Position Summary
We are hiring for a Safety Audit Manager with at least 5 years of experience working in our Safety department. This position reports to the Director of Safety and will perform field audits, nationally, to verify regulatory compliance with safety codes, regulations, standards, and related OPAL Fuels Company requirements at all jobsites. This role is responsible for developing and enforcing safety measures, conducting training, and ensuring compliance with safety regulations to maintain a safe workplace and is crucial to ensuring organizational compliance and efficiency.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Create and implement safety protocols and guidelines to ensure that all employees understand the safety measures required in the workplace.
- Inspect work areas to identify potential hazards and ensure compliance with safety standards. This includes checking equipment, work practices, and overall workplace conditions.
- Organize and lead training sessions to educate employees on safety procedures, emergency response, and the proper use of safety equipment.
- Maintain detailed records of safety inspections, incidents, and training sessions. This documentation is crucial for analyzing trends and making informed decisions about safety improvements.
- In the event of an accident, investigate the incident to determine its cause and recommend corrective actions to prevent future occurrences.
- Ensure that the organization adheres to all relevant safety laws and regulations, including those set by OSHA and other regulatory bodies
- Ensure that corrective actions are implemented and monitor their effectiveness.
- Work with the management team on compliance issues and training.
- Assist with new programs as developed.
- Provide training and guidance on safety practices and regulations.
- Review and assist in maintaining current policies on Safety.
- Review and maintain safety training classes in the company dashboard.
- Collaborate with various departments and stakeholders to ensure transparency and effective communication regarding findings discovered during onsite visits.
- Create and carry out plans for emergencies, such as evacuation procedures and fire safety protocols, to make sure employees are ready to respond to any potential emergency.
Qualifications and Skills
- Associate’s degree in occupational safety or equivalent work experience preferred.
- 5+ years of safety auditing experience.
- Industry experience in oil, gas, and/or electric power generation preferred.
- Ability to maintain and protect a high level of confidentiality.
- Must be detail oriented and possess exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong organizational and planning skills, with the ability to handle multiple tasks.
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office including Outlook, Word, and Excel.
- Must be familiar with OSHA regulations.
- OSHA, 30-hour construction and/or general industry training are preferred.
Work Hours and Arrangements
This role requires weekly travel with occasional weekend travel of approximately 75%. This role can be based from anywhere in the U.S. within reasonable distance to an airport. This role involves overnight travel from Tuesday through Thursday, 3 weeks per month.

Position requires physical effort such as that associated with driving a motorized vehicle, using hand tools, and typing on a computer. Position requires moderate lifting (10-50 lbs.), occasional need to walk on irregular surfaces, and occasional stooping, kneeling, climbing, or crouching. Also requires the use of hands and arms to operate/examine gas meter, flow meters, hand tools, power tools, bridge and jib cranes and test/diagnostic equipment.

Pay
The range for this role is anticipated to be $85,000- $105,000 annually with bonus for eligible positions. Where a specific pay range is noted, it is a good faith estimate at the time of this posting. The actual salary offered will be based on experience, skills, qualifications, market / business considerations, and geographic location.
