Position Summary
We are hiring for a Director of Engineering with at least 7 years of experience to work on our Construction team. The Director of Engineering will be managing and providing engineering, design/drafting, and technical support of projects from concept to completion.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Provide engineering leadership and direction to engineering, drafting, vendor, contractor, customers, team members.
  • Direct, manage and drive the technical and engineering of projects.
  • Provide engineering analysis, and specs of equipment for projects.
  • Review and guide engineering, specs, and scope of projects with selected EPC firms.
  • Assist other team members in in developing RFQs.
  • Develop quantity and cost estimates for site work.
  • Provide technician guidance of multiple concurrent projects, in multiple states, through the design and approval process.
  • Coordinate efforts electrical and mechanical engineers, equipment manufacturers and company design team to produce construction plans and specifications.
  • Direct facility layout design.
  • Support the sales team at inquiry, award, and subsequent meetings with customers and serve as a technical representative when needed.
  • Use AutoCAD to quickly revise, update, and make changes to drawings.
  • Make recommendations for improvements to the engineering process and the products of the company.
  • Provide creativity and latitude for designs to meet desired facility performance.
  • Serve as company primary contact for all engineering questions.
  • Oversee the review, creation, and maintenance of engineering standards, processes, and procedures.
  • Implement policies and procedures to reduce costs, shorten cycle time, improve serviceability, and increase throughput and quality.
  • Interface with major equipment suppliers so that product knowledge remains current. Investigate new suppliers and new products.
  • Lead the research and development effort to find innovative solutions that will result in lowering overall cost without lowering the overall quality.
  • Coordinate activities for financial and technical evaluation of existing and future products.
  • Provide recommendations on existing and future products.
  • Review product design for compliance with engineering principles, company standards, state and federal standards, customer contract requirements, and related specifications.
  • Oversee outsourced civil and land-development engineering.
  • Support department in kick-off meetings following award of project to confirm understanding of scope of supply and contractual obligations.
  • Assist with start-up issues of new packages to ensure smooth operation and proper installation.

Qualifications and Skills

  • 7+ years of relevant experience and proven success.
  • Bachelor's degree in engineering or related discipline.
  • Oil or high pressure gas experience required; CNG experience preferred, but not required.
  • Demonstrated leadership and supervisory experience leading and managing company team members, and vendors.
  • PE License desired but not required.
  • Strong understanding of industry codes.
  • Understanding of industrial drafting standards, symbols, process, instrumentation, and wiring diagrams.
  • Ability to perform changes and updates to drawings utilizing AutoCAD.
  • Experienced in developing specifications for the design and fabrication of mechanical plant processes.
  • Experienced in evaluation of customer specifications, with aptitude to communicate directly with customers.
  • Experienced in quality review of fabricated and assembled equipment, cost review and control.
  • Must be able to achieve positive results in safety, quality, productivity, cost, and employee relations.
  • Must be able to comprehend the interdependence of all operations in the production process, then make decisions that lead to the efficient use of available resources while maintaining project scheduled.
  • Must have strong and effective organizational, documentation, presentation, and communication skills.
  • Must be dependable, highly motivated, and self-directed; able to work effectively with little supervision.
  • Must have good oral and written skills at all levels of internal and external organizations.
  • Must be hands-on manager, able to delegate, and drive efficiently.
  • Must have strong leadership skills and a desire to train and develop others.
  • Must be a team player with strong interpersonal skills.
  • Knowledge of other disciplines: electrical, controls, process engineering, civil structural, and civil land

Pay
The range for this role is anticipated to be $150,000-$180,000 annually with bonus for eligible positions. Where a specific pay range is noted, it is a good faith estimate at the time of this posting. The actual salary offered will be based on experience, skills, qualifications, market / business considerations, and geographic location.
