Position Summary
We are hiring a Director - Engineering, Procurement & Construction (EPC), Biogas to Pipeline Energy Infrastructure with at least 10 years of experience to work on our Upstream Construction Team reporting to the SVP Construction.  

The Director of Engineering, Procurement & Construction (EPC) is a senior leadership role responsible for the successful delivery of a large, complex capital portfolio of biogas–to–pipeline projects. This role oversees 1-2 concurrent projects totaling approximately $100-200MM USD in capital value while also directly leading, mentoring, and managing a team of 5–7 Project Managers responsible for similarly sized and scoped projects.

This leader will set the technical, commercial, and execution standards for engineering, procurement, and construction across the organization, ensuring projects are delivered safely, on schedule, within budget, and to required quality and regulatory standards.

Duties and Responsibilities
Capital Project Leadership & Delivery
  • Provide overall EPC leadership for 1-2 active capital projects totaling approximately $100-200MM USD.
  • Establish and enforce project governance and stage-gate execution standards.
  • Ensure safe execution in compliance with OSHA and company safety programs.
  • Oversee integrated project controls including cost, schedule, risk, and change management.
  • Serve as escalation point for major project issues, claims, and disputes.
People Leadership & Organization Development
  • Directly manage, coach, and mentor 5–7 Project Managers.
  • Build a high-performance EPC organization with standardized processes.
  • Participate in talent development, performance management, and succession planning.
Engineering Oversight
  • Provide executive oversight of engineering activities and deliverables.
  • Ensure alignment of designs with constructability, operability, and regulatory requirements.
  • Drive standardization of engineering practices where appropriate.
Procurement, Strategic Sourcing & Contract Management
  • Lead strategic sourcing, supplier selection, and EPC contracting.
  • Oversee RFPs, bid evaluations, negotiations, and contract awards.
  • Manage complex EPC and EPCM contracting strategies.
  • Drive cost savings and value engineering initiatives.
Construction & Field Execution
  • Provide senior oversight of construction execution and contractor performance.
  • Ensure effective interface management between engineering, procurement, and construction.
  • Support resolution of field execution and claims issues.
Stakeholder & Executive Communication
  • Communicate project status to executives, investors, and lenders.
  • Prepare and present project updates and capital forecasts.
Qualifications and Skills
  • BS in Electrical, Mechanical, Chemical, or Petroleum Engineering from an ABET-accredited university. Advanced degree (MS or MBA) preferred.
  • Minimum 10 years of experience in chemical, oil & gas, or energy industries in either the EPC or Owner role.
  • Proven experience delivering large capital projects and managing portfolios.
  • Strong cost, schedule, and project controls expertise.
  • Experience with landfill gas, RNG, or pipeline infrastructure projects preferred. 
  • Experience with lender and investor oversight preferred.
Work Hours and Arrangements
Incumbent will work a hybrid / flex schedule but must reside within daily commuting distance to the Charlotte, NC area.  At least 50% travel with overnight travel responsibilities.

The role involves extended periods of sitting and working at a computer, with frequent use of hands and fingers for typing and operating standard office equipment. The individual must be able to read and interpret reports, schedules, drawings, and digital displays. Periodic standing, walking, reaching, bending, kneeling, crouching, and stooping are required. Field responsibilities include performing walk downs at active construction, industrial, or operational sites; walking on uneven or unimproved surfaces such as gravel, dirt, concrete, steel grating, and scaffolding; climbing stairs, ladders (including vertical ladders), and scaffolding; working at heights and in confined or congested spaces; and safely wearing required personal protective equipment (PPE), which may include hard hats, safety glasses, steel toe boots, gloves, hearing protection, fall protection equipment, and respirators as dictated by site conditions. The position requires the ability to work in outdoor and industrial environments with potential exposure to varying weather conditions, noise, dust, lighting, and nearby moving equipment, while maintaining situational awareness and adherence to safety protocols. Travel and extended work hours may be required to support project needs.

Pay
The range for this role is anticipated to be $175,000-$195,000 annual salary with bonus for eligible positions. Where a specific pay range is noted, it is a good faith estimate at the time of this posting.  The actual salary offered will be based on experience, skills, qualifications, market / business considerations, and geographic location.
